OK, I had somewhat mixed feelings, upon arrival of the Serenade and after noting few little scratches on its face, a slight paint off where the balanced headphones is .. Then it arrived in winter Europe, and i decided to put it in the rig very cold, and forgot to even warm up my class A amp .. And immediately compared it to my trusty old DAC - it sounded like a disaster in the making - with short and not even present highs, thin, unacceptable everything. Few hours later I was for the biggest transformation in my audiophile life ever! Was this DAC the most wonderful one i heard to date, yes, did it destroy my trusty XXX DAC - almost, did everything, but mostly soundstaging, imaging, grain, presence - improve ? You bet. Is this an endgame DAC ? It is now !
